Following an amazing hour on our balcony viewing the MASSIVE universe as displayed in
monument valley with absolutely NO light pollution..we took to our beds.

I was rudely awoken by Ian at 04.50 ( oyy dirty minds ) he really needs to learn to operate
blinds/ sliding doors etc quietly, seems I wanted to see the dawn from the balcony. I must
admit it was awesome.

My time clock is truly screwed we were up & negotiating ourselves a
tour into Mystery valley with our Navajo guide Perry by 9am. We went to a less travelled
area of the valley to see fab natural sandstone arches & Anastase Indian ruins. Spider man (
Martin ) Batgirl ( Hollie ) & Robin ( Ian ) climbed the ruins & natural chasms, Ian scaled
an arch , Hollie & Martin found a guano cave , go figure ! Perry was ok at naming the various landmarks but lacked the local knowledge of our previous guide who was able to tell us much more about the belief systems & folklore.

We travelled out in the afternoon for a 3.5 hr drive to the Grand Canyon North Rim..We
stopped at the worlds grottiest Pizza Hut for lunch ( according to Martin , it wasn't a
patch on his local " mama mia's" apparently he gets a great Pizza there).
As we entered The Grand Canyon National Park , We passed many areas of Burnt & charred
trees, These are the result of Lightning strikes & actually aid the wellbeing of the forest,
The Trees rot away & replenish the soil.
We are in the Grand Canyon Lodge Saloon having a drop of the local brew, Canyon Pilsner not
too shabby...might need a helping hand to find our cabin again , its mighty dark out here!!
Nice to see you are all enjoying yourselves. Everyone at see are watching your progress. Will be having a drink on the 28th.
