Day 6 - Leaving Vegas - Death Valley

I am pleased to say Martin survived his ordeal in the casino, He frittered away $4 on the roulette..High Roller!

Wagons roll & we began our trek thru Death Valley,
we Stopped at Bad water,The unforgiving terrain stretching for many miles ,

We stopped for a buffet lunch in Furnace Creek. At 1 point we were flagged down by a Swedish chap having a bit of a panic because his "hire car, is not making speed " we reassured him that the car was trying to climb to 5000 feet above sea level & his Skoda equivalent was doing its best, it was unlikely his bleached bones would be discovered by park rangers next week.

We arrived safely in Lone Pine to my delight the Hotel is equipped with a laundry & Joy of Joys its next to our room!! I have spent a highly satisfying evening , fluffing & folding.
The pool is nice too says Martin, who has been Mins pool pal this afternoon, he will sleep well tonight. We have discovered Lone Pine has a McDonalds, so its burgers for tea..Yes Caroline, the Duck has had an op..or a bobbit as we call it :)
