Day 12 - Oregon Caves

What a funny old day!
Morning at the Chateau..

The acoustics in a 1930's timber building might lead you to believe the ole joint is haunted, I woke around 5am convinced someone was having a wash in our bathroom! Ian informs me that before bed he googled our hotel & discovered its on the USA today top 10 most haunted route

Legend has it that newly wed "Elizabeth" caught her new husband cheating with a chamber maid & either flung herself from a window/hung herself ( stories vary ) guess where? Yep room 310 OUR ROOM.

We bought our passes to the cave tour & had breakfast in the diner.

Brian our attractive ranger guide took us deep into the mountain, sharing its history, as well as ecology & rock formations.

90 mins later after admiring Brians Stalegmite, we emerged into the heat & began our Journey to the Union Creek cabins at crater lake.

We stopped at a massive Walmart & bought Steak etc for a lovely evening BBQ,

Within the hour we found our shed (cabin).

We unpacked the car & cracked open the beer..I set up the BBq started the steaks .,With that
the heavens opened. Monsoon rains, followed by sheet lightening & thunder that set off car
alarms & sent min & Ian (poofs) scurrying into the cabin in fear,

The power flickered & went off.

This is clearly a regular occurance as the cabin comes complete with a tilly lamp which we have lit, The Steaks were eaten by parafin lamp light & tasted amazing..

We have hot water & have showered & put PJs on..Ian is sitting in a rocking chair by our cabin door as I write to you dear reader & min is using the last of the battery power in her nintendo.

If this is my last entry please send help as we may have been eaten by bears, Whats that by the
door?? AAAARRRRGGGHHH...........
