We left bright & early for Crater Lake. We arrived at the visitor center & had a sandwich.
The views from various stop off points were amazing, we took a trail to Sun Notch point &
were rewarded by Panoramic views of the lake which is the most dazzling blue due to its
2000ft depth.The Lake was created in the crater of a volcano & has no rivers entering OR leaving it. The water remains a constant depth as water evaporates & seeps throught the earth , Further water is added by snow & rain. Between 1881 & 1941 3 species of fish were introduced & now flourish.
Unfortunately several trails & the only beach to the lake were closed due to fires caused by
lightening strikes last night ( all thankfully under control ).

Our journey into deepest Oregon continued, we stopped for Gas & Ian was assaulted by a mad
cafe owner as he tried to do "self service " gas pumping...seems Oregon state law prohibits
this evil practice, The woman ranks in my top 5 rudest people & was lucky enough to catch a
comment or 2 from me, Waterloovilles most sarcastic woman!

Min now writes...hi everyone...We made our way through the lovely scenery to our Best western in Eugene. Mum took me to the pool & we played with my toys, We are currantly sat in " The taste of India", you guessed it an indian, Ian is finishing off all the left overs mum is finishing her beer and I am typing with a bowl of watermellon from my buffet next to me. see you all soon.The hollie meister xxxxx
